A: You do not need an appointment for tuxedo rental fittings or formal dress purchasing. We DO recommend that you set appointments for wedding gown purchasing, especially during March and April, so we can arrange to devote our full attention to you. Your private appointments are generally available on Saturdays between 3 and 5 p.m., if you need to schedule during another time of the week please let us know. We are happy to arrange outside-of-hours appointments as needed. Then, please be sure to arrive promptly, as we do not keep our scheduled brides waiting. Walk-in's may be asked to wait,r may need to be patient with interruptions, especially during school dance seasons. Wear the undergarments and bring the shoes that you plan to use on your wedding day. If you haven't yet decided on the shoes, bring a pair that have your favorite heel height. We can order your bridal shoes when you decide on the gown. Formals and bridal gowns do not fit like street clothing and require a bustier to ensure that they fit correctly. You will want to bring a bustier for your gown if you have one. We do offer bustiers, corsets and slimmers to rent or purchase.
Please do not wear heavy makeup at your appointment, or if you intend to try on our formal dresses. We will supply you with the means to remove it before trying on our gowns. Our most popular bridal samples tend to sell off the rack and must be kept in excellent condition. This will greatly cut down our dry-cleaning costs, and enable us to offer cleaner gowns at much more affordable prices. If you damage, or heavily soil one of our gowns with food, excessive makeup, dirt, etc. it will be your responsibility to either pay for the gown or the dry-cleaning (think "you break it you buy it") at our discretion. We also require that girls 15 or younger be accompanied by their parent/guardian when trying on dresses, to help prevent damage to our inventory. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation.
Bridesmaids fittings are always scheduled separately from the bridal appointment. If you have chosen your colors, we will show you our bridesmaid options after you have chosen your gown, and begin your bridesmaids registry.
Q: Why can't I bring more than one guest to my bridal appointment? A: We love spoiling our brides with personal, one on one attention during their private appointment. To ensure that our brides receive the best quality assistance we can offer, with a minimum of distraction, we limit the appointment exclusively to the bride and one guest. We have found in the past that when the bride brings more than one friend, it becomes incredibly difficult for her to find the style that suits her personality and figure the best. Well-meaning friends may try to help by suggesting styles they like to the bride. Unfortunately, rather than help, this causes confusion and stress, leaving the bride either purchasing a gown she secretly hates, or unable to make the decision at all. When choosing your guest, consider one who can really be objective and most helpful. If your best friend is not afraid to tell you that green makes you look like the creature from the black lagoon, for example, she would be the one to bring! Fathers are always welcome.
